Relevant Experience

  • Currently owner and operator of Performance Energy (California State Contractors License # 812696).
    Performing whole house energy analysis, blowerdoor air leakage diagnostics, complete home weatherization, duct testing and sealing services. Certified HERS (Home Energy Rating System) Rater. – Greater Sacramento area.
  • 2000-2001 Manager Energy Efficient Mortgage (EEM) Division of Matrix Building System Design – Sacramento. Provided EEM services to local mortgage brokers and their clients. Installation of energy efficient upgrades such as dual pane windows, high efficiency HVAC systems, infiltration remediation, duct testing and sealing, retrofit insulation addition and hot water pipe insulation.
  • 2000 – Trainer for Affordable Comfort Conference in San Ramon, CA. Training course curriculum included whole house pressure diagnostics as a tool for weatherization and duct sealing measures, main focus on combustion safety (carbon monoxide) and air quality issues involved with air leakage remediation measures.
  • 1997-2001 Project Manager ADM Associates Inc. – Sacramento
    • Designed and managed Residential Duct Testing and Sealing program for Pacific Gas and Electric, San Diego Gas and Electric, Southern California Gas Company and Southern California Edison (program years 1997, 1998, 1999). Recruited HVAC contractors in the respective utility service areas and trained them in current air duct testing and sealing methods, compliant with current repair standards and UL listed repair materials. Training occurred in class and in field, providing hands-on training in over 1000 rate-payer homes statewide.
    • Primary Duct Testing and Sealing Trainer for the Residential Contractor Program in Program Year 2000 for Southern California Edison.
    • Designer and Project Manager for Southern California Gas Co.’s Residential High Efficiency Water Heater Rebate Program. Program is in its 4th year and has been expanded statewide.
    • Program Manager for Southern California Gas Co.’s Hotel / Motel High Efficiency Upgrades Program.
  • 1996-1997 Design and installation of Ground Source Heat Pump systems in Northern California. Worked with various players in the industry. Research and Development of low-cost Ground Source Heat Pump installation methods with March Equipment - Sacramento under research grant from PG&E.
  • 1995-1996 Research assistant for California Energy Commission Renewable Energy Development Department.

  • 2001 – Completion: Residential Contractor Program, Duct Testing And Sealing and Air Conditioning / Heat Pump Diagnostic Tune-up Workshop and Challenge Test.
  • 2001 – Completion: Designing and Installing Code Compliant Photovoltaics Workshop. Presented by Endecon Engineering for the California Energy Commission and Sacramento Area Electrical Apprenticeship.
